Procedure

This operation is performed under general anesthesia. Stopping smoking before the operation is essential because it delays the healing of the wound, also avoiding taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory and vitamins because they can cause bleeding due to blood clotting.

Abdominoplasty takes about two to three hours, if of course it is combined with another operation, the duration is longer. The incision of this operation is made low horizontally at the height of the adolescent, the unnecessary skin and fat are removed and the abdominal muscles are reattached.

In very large laxities, an incision is also made around the navel in order to remove the excess skin and fat above the navel, which is repositioned in the midline in a new position.
Once the entire procedure is done, the incision is sutured, together with tubes (drains) which are removed one to two days after the operation.
