Acne is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition<\/b> that manifests itself in various forms, mainly in the area of the face, neck, sternum, shoulders and back. It mainly appears during puberty, when the sebaceous glands are active, but it can also appear much later due to other factors.<\/p>\n

The main cause of acne is the explosive increase in the levels of androgens,<\/b> hormones that are strongly active during puberty. These are male hormones produced by the adrenal glands of both sexes, but in women they are subsequently converted into estrogen. The increase in androgen levels results in the enlargement of the sebaceous glands, which in turn begin to produce more sebum.
