The results of the operation help the patient to feel confident with their appearance again. Also, if the skin of the eyelids has fallen and is preventing the patient’s ability to see, blepharoplasty can eliminate this problem and allow full opening of the eyes<\/p>\n

In the first weeks after surgery, it is expected that your eyes will tire more quickly than before, so it is important not to tire them too much. If your job requires you to be in front of a computer for many hours, consider reducing your workload in the first few days and increasing it gradually.<\/p>\n

You must protect your eyes, as directed by your doctor, from the sun and wind. For the first few weeks, you are required to wear dark sunglasses with frames that provide ample coverage whenever you go outdoors.<\/p>\n

The operation is performed under local anesthesia and lasts 20-30 minutes. Most patients feel quite well and comfortable after a few days, and the only thing that will keep them away from work is the possible swelling and bruising that will have occurred post-operatively. These will completely subside by the second week.<\/p>\n

Finally, you should avoid lifting weights for up to 4 weeks after surgery to avoid straining the eyelids. This can be a difficult restriction, but it is critical not to cause sudden increases in blood pressure until your incisions have healed.<\/p>\n
